Aside from writing tutorials for this site, I like to keep myself busy on personal projects to build my skills and offer something to the world. My last personal project being Tides UK, a site providing tide information for over 600 UK locations.
I love to travel and go to as many new places as I can. There’s so much I’d like to share from my travels, but I feel there isn’t a WordPress theme out there which is good or quick enough. After downloading a few and looking at the source, there’s many which are poorly written. I want to create a WordPress theme for people who travel.
Designing and writing the theme
I’ve deliberately travelled around while writing the theme. Parts of it have been written in Cuba, Ireland, various places in the UK including York, Manchester and London, and in German cities of Nuremberg and Bremen. Travelling is something I love to do, and I love to share my experiences and advice based on my trips.
The aim of the trip is to make travel blogging accessible to as many people as possible, whilst also sourcing pictures automatically from the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
When will it be ready?
I’m aiming to have the theme complete for beta testing in early April. If you’re someone who also loves to travel and want to share your experiences, get in touch with me. I’ll happily sort you out with some hosting and a .com domain. In the meantime, I continue my travels, sourcing inspiration and feedback for the project from like-minded people across the world.
I want your feedback
Any ideas, feedback or features, I’d love to hear. Please provide feedback in the comments section below or get in touch.
